The Science Center Netzwerk envisions new spaces in Vienna where contemporary issues of science and technology can be experienced and debated. Interactive science center activities supported by artistic design elements will create an atmosphere where casual yet meaningful encounters of Science, Arts, Culture and Society can take place.
In order to anticipate and to develop such spaces, the association Science Center Netzwerk in collaboration with the University of Applied Arts Vienna and other strategic partners will establish an experimental “communication lab”. This will be an open, flexible and transdisciplinary forum enabling to collectively shape the idea and to directly test how science center activities, design ideas and communication settings interact.
The accompanying research of an international senior fellow will focus on how the novel interface between Science, Art, Culture and Society actually works in practice and on what we can learn for the benefit of similar open and community-based development processes.
