With its pilot project call „ Environmental Systems Research: Urban Environments” WWTF wants to fund research projects which examine the urban environment in a holistic way with its physical, chemical, hydrological, biological, social, technological and/ or economic processes and especially the interactions between these various components. A first pilotcall in this field was conducted in 2017.
The projects should tackle societal highly relevant questions in the field of environmental systems research in urban environments and bring together researchers from different scientific disciplines in order to foster interactive partnerships across Vienna. Interdisciplinarity is highly emphasized.

The second call of the thematic programme “Environmental Systems Research" is completed.
